CERAM 2010 results
To give more transparency to our data, CERAM´s team have prepared each year a statistical analysis of treatment cycles. In 2010, CERAM performed 350 cycles. In November we implemented a new technology called IMSI-SS which is only used in certain cases.
When it comes to own egg cycles the general trend is a decrease in pregnancy rate with increasing age of the patient. This is because the quality of eggs declines sharply after 35.
CERAM is not following the normal trend and this is due to the careful selection of elderly women for treatment with own eggs. In fact, Dr. Benito recommends a simple test to determine whether to advise own eggs cycle or the egg donation program. AMH is the test that reflects the levels of hormone and ovarian reserve. Therefore some patients with advanced age but with levels of this hormone feasible be advised to undergo a cycle with their own eggs before they are sent directly to the egg donation program.
In ovcyte donation, pregnancy rates are normalized as the factor “age of oocytes” disappears. Thus pregnancy rates are not dependent on the age of the patient
